Remember that you can always book one way flights with low cost airlines. For instance flying out with easyJet and back with BMI Baby can often save's £££'s by jamiewuk in Getting there
Always check drawers at home for old currency you've kept. You'd be surprised how often there's at least enough for your first round of drinks when you get there! by goater1976 in Before travelling

When your flight has been called and everyone runs to get in the queue. Just stay seated and read your magazine and watch everyone get frustrated in the slow moving line. You already have your seat booked and the plane isn't going to fly off until the last passenger is on - you! by darrellp in At the airport
For travel sickness on planes , try to sit in seats nearest the wings as they are the most stable. by gemwoo in Getting there
For the cheapest sun lotion - ALWAYS buy at the Airport duty free shops - it is by far cheaper and they always have a good selection by darrellp in At the airport
Never pay full price for theatre tickets. Buy your theatre tickets on the day of performance for most shows. There is ONLY ONE half price theatre tickets booth in Leicester Square. Don't be fooled by the many other companies operating in that area - they are for the tourists. The real one is the circular building by the edge of the park. Get their early to guarantee your place by darrellp in 5 star living for 3 star prices
Always arrive early for check-in for three reasons: 1) You can ask for an upgrade (the worst they can say is no!) 2) You won't miss the flight and 3) You are more relaxed to enjoy the airport amenities by darrellp in At the airport
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS - after you have packed your case. Put your name and address on the top INSIDE your case. Luggage labels easily come off and if they do your suitcase is just another unknown suitcase with clothes. You'd be surprised how many suitcases are lost this way. by darrellp in Before travelling
Find you are always forgetting to pack something or do something before the holiday? Write a list on excel - include all clothes (socks, shirts, ties, etc) and things you need to do (empty kitchen bin, empty fridge etc). Use the list again and again. I have done this for the last five years and never forgotten to take anything by darrellp in Before travelling
Camden Town Market, London - there are ALWAYS celebrities there. Just look for the sunglasses! by darrellp in UK celebrity hangouts
Want to make some quick cash. Sell those unwanted presents that you have in your cupboard (the people who gave them will never know)- on Ebay. You'll be surprised how much you can make. One Sunday I found 30 unwanted items (all great condition) - put them on Ebay and made 800 pounds, which paid for our holiday! It only takes a few dedicated hours then watch the cash come rolling in... by darrellp in Saving up for hols
